Objective
Knowledge/Skills
How to Achieve Goals
Building Rapport
Learning the professional manner to use when interacting with clients and candidates. Not only dealing with face-to-face interactions, but over the phone and email.
Observe other professionals and practice daily with real candidates
Career Fairs
Learn the procedures and how they differ depending on location (professional or school). Learn how to interact and attract potential candidates.
Maintain a friendly personality and positive attitude.
Computer Skills
Developing skills with computer programs such as Outlook, Taleo, SAP, and various websites. Also refreshing skills with programs like Excel.
Practice daily with more hands-on work than observation.
Business Acumen
Learning in detail about the business process, the products, industry knowledge, and what the company actually does. This knowledge is very useful when talking to candidates about specific positions and responsibilities.
Study company intranet, brochures, and other sources of information. Also talk with members of other departments.
Attend Department Meetings
Contribute meaningful insights and issues, support other members, as well as present a topic and share content.
Check calendar regularly to know meeting context. Prepare for presentations the same as school.
Plant Tour
Tour the site and buildings to learn what the manufacturing process looks like and the specific responsibilities of each division.
Be proactive about finding opportunities to go on tours.
Career Day
Help plan and co-ordinate a tour day for junior high students.
Familiarize myself with the site and manufacturing details,
Recruitment/Interview/Selection Process
Complete the process from beginning to end. Starting from identifying a need, to creating the job post, to shortlisting candidates and contacting them (setting up interviews). Conducting a phone and face-to face interview, then selecting the candidate (conduct reference check), then making an offer to the candidate (conduct back check).
Work closely with Tennielle and absorb as much info possible. Look to involve myself in all parts of the process.
Four Month Task List
May – August
Ensure registered and prepared for career fairs (materials – give away and print, people)
Register & pay for: UofA, UofC (Science & Eng), UofS, SAIT, NAIT career fairs
Look into UVic (when)
Contacting Jim to look into materials for career fairs (before June 28th mtg)

-Identify for each CF how many reps to send
-Scheduling participants
-Build a calendar of these events
-Student Strategy:
Use accumulated and new knowledge to construct a strategy of connecting with and attracting students.

·       Standard Offer letters (incorporate into offer letter generator)
Work with Tennielle to create and learn the detailed aspects of an offer letter and create a new template.
·       Social Media for students – Linked In/Facebook
July 15th – Find methods of using social media to attract not only University students and certain programs, but all students from high school to graduate, and how to engage them.
-Sourcing Team Objectives:

·       Posting templates in Taleo Library
Work with Melody to develop a posting template and put in Taleo.
RED Survey data analysis
Pull Manufacturing West data, analyze for next process changes.
